KPMG Recruitment Infographic

Overview
As part of the recruitment process for KPMG, I was tasked with creating a compelling data story for an audience of digital and technology leaders. The data was focused on new hires, national market insights, and social media engagement with job seekers.
Using Adobe Illustrator, I developed an engaging and interactive assessment of KPMG's social media presence with candidates, KPMG's recruitment metrics, and Canadian labour market trends.
This data visualization ultimately helped me to land the job at KPMG.

KPMG's digital and technology recruitment leaders struggled to digest their quarterly recruitment insights due to outdated reporting practices, which lacked visual appeal, clear information architecture, and creativity to keep readers engaged.
These insights are crucial for guiding business decisions and tracking recruitment performance, and as a result, the team faced challenges in staying up to date and making informed, data-driven decisions.
Analyzing the dataset.
I received the following Excel document from the recruitment team, outlining key data points for the visual story, including national market insights, social media engagement, career page views, and recruiting performance metrics.

Finding clarity in the chaos.
To bring order to the unorganized data, I started by grouping related metrics into similar themes. I then went through a mapping exercise to organize these metrics into a logical narrative flow, guided by my own analysis and assumptions.

Understanding KPMG's visual identity.
Before diving into the designs, I explored KPMG’s visual identity to ensure the infographic aligned with their brand. I made sure to incorporate their colours, fonts and key design elements to create a cohesive and consistent look.

Once I had the narrative flow mapped out, the design started coming together naturally. I focused on making each section transition smoothly into the next to create a seamless and engaging experience for the reader.
Later, I had the opportunity to share it with KPMG’s digital and technology talent leader — one of the key users of this infographic. She found it really valuable and was excited to put it to use, which was an incredibly rewarding moment for me.
